Mission Trips

"What is mission work?"
Mission work is going out to minister to people and help those that need it

"When do people go to do mission work?"
When they feel God telling them to go

"Where do people go to do mission work?"
Where they feel God is telling them to go

"Who goes to do mission work?"
Those that want to spread the Gospel and want to help those in need

"Why go to do mission work?"
Matthew 28:19-20: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Members of New Providence have taken several trips in the past few years.  In 2010, in response to the flooding in Nashville a group of adults went to assist in rebuilding homes.  In 2011, the youth went to the Heifer Ranch outside Little Rock, Arkansas, to get a hands-on look at how Heifer International provides the means to end poverty and hunger around the world.  Plans are in the works for the high school youth to travel to Asheville, NC, to participate in AYM (Asheville Youth Missions).  AYM is a program to help students discern their spiritual gifts and learn how to put those gifts into practice.
As mission trips are planned, they are announced in the Chancel Window, the Sunday bulletins and on this website.  If you have any questions about mission trips, please contact Mark Curtis or Steve Musick.
