From the Presbytery of East TN Disaster Response Team

As you all know, a number of tornadoes have hit up and down the presbytery.

As Coordinator of Disaster Response of the Presbytery, I have received a call for help from Tellico Plains in particular. They lost about 40 homes in the surrounding area, a number of which are in the somewhat rural mountain area around Tellico Plains causing lots of blow-down and road blockage. The people are working together to clear the area, but they would love to borrow a chipper from somewhere to grind the limbs, etc. rather then create huge brush fires. As a result, the people could mulch spring gardens with the results.

If you have or know someone who has such a piece of equipment that those folks might borrow for next week March 12- 19, please call or notify Jon Faraone, Minister at Center Presbyterian Church 423-253-2303.
