Schedule of Services

Our worship style at New Providence is Reformed, centered around the Word of God, and seeks to help worshipers make relevant connections with their daily lives.  The FirstLight service is a service still in the Reformed style, but with a relaxed non-traditional feel.  The music is led by a praise team with modern instrumentation and piano.  The traditional service affords us the opportunity to be led in musical worship by the Chancel Choir and our wonderful organ.  The message, brought by our insightful professional staff, is the same in both services.

Special worship services celebrate significant events in the Christian year. The Advent and Christmas seasons are marked with three services on Christmas Eve, and a "Watch Night" service on New Year’s Eve. Lenten observances include a weekly midday devotional service during the weeks preceding Easter, as well as evening services on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday. On Thanksgiving Eve, NPPC participates with other Blount County churches in a community-wide worship service.
Once a quarter, NPPC offers a "Service for Wholeness," most often on a Wednesday or Sunday evening. This simple service of prayer and communion is designed to offer prayers for healing for those who are sick and for wholeness for those experiencing brokenness.
