Presbyterian Men’s Parking Square
The Parking Square collects donations and manages our parking lots during Maryville High School Football games in the fall. Church members collect money, direct cars to open spaces, and keep an eye on the parking lot, from the hour preceding the game to its conclusion. All money raised is distributed back into our local community through our community partners.
Trick or Cans Food Drive
Trick or Cans is our Youth group’s annual food drive to benefit the community food connection. Church members are invited to participate by donating non-perishable food during the last couple weeks of October, and/or assisting our youth in putting flyers up around the community.
ChristmasWishes
Each year, New Providence participates in CommunityWorx ChristmasWishes program, to provide gifts and other resources to deserving families in our local area. As a part of the program, New Providence is also a site for one of the ChristmasWishes celebrations. Church members can help to organize and sort donations, or assist with logistics, games, or other activities during the celebration. The celebration is typically held the second week of December. Wish lists and donations are received during November.
Emergency Shelters
During the winter, when the temperature dips below 25 degrees, and during the summer when the heat is 95 or above, the community opens an emergency warming/cooling shelter for anyone who needs a climate controlled refuge, from 7pm to 7am in the winter, and noon-6 pm in the summer. New Providence supports these efforts by providing food and people to serve as hosts during the evening time.
